Bretonnia has a strong running game, relying on screening, tactical marking, and hand-off plays to score. Lastly, the numbers are made up by dirty peasants, easily replaceable, there to take punches, and far too lowly to ever be trusted with the ball. Their blockers, or squires, provide humble but effective support. Their blitzers, the questing knights, are the star players of the team, hogging the ball, scoring touchdowns and making the big hits for the highlight reel. I hope that this one, with the blitzer change taken into account, will in turn help others thinking of picking up Bretonnia and giving them a shot.īretonnians are a weird but satisfyingly thematic team. I really feel like I'm standing on the shoulders of a giant in writing this, not least of all because I took some formatting ideas from his earlier Bretonnian article, but also because his article gave me plenty of help when running my own Bret team, even if it was slightly outdated. Almost all of the guides out there refer to the blitzers only having access to general and passing skills, a restriction that severely limited their usefulness, but now they are so much better! So I took it upon myself, despite the fact that I'm a fairly new player, to write up a new and up-to-date guide.īefore I start I'd like to thank ravenpoe121 for his wonderful “Let's Talk About.” series, which was the inspiration for this post. But the Brets that first arrived with BB2 are quite different today thanks to one crucial update to the team: their blitzers gained agility access on normal skill-up rolls. To the best of my knowledge, Bretonnians started out as a fan-made team, getting their big break when introduced by Cyanide in their digital implementation of the tabletop game, Blood Bowl 2. Greetings, blood ballers! This here is a guide to one of the newer, and therefore less talked about teams in Blood Bowl, Bretonnia! As a player interested in starting a Bret team I found that there wasn't much out there in terms of strategy or build discussion for this team, and what little there was was outdated.
